About Sunday Evening Worship

NOTE: We have temporarily suspended evening worship, but hope to begin celebrating it again soon!

A regular Sunday evening worship service is something we’ve planned for Mission PC from the start.  Evening worship used to be a regular event in Evangelical churches, but has largely been lost.  We’d like to recover it.  Here’s what a typical evening is like:

  • We spend the first few minutes singing “psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.”  We use the Trinity Hymnal for congregational singing and supplement it with some of the quality music written recently.  Members of the congregation request songs to sing.
  • We then take time sharing prayer requests and praying for them together.
  • These are followed by a time of teaching for the whole family.  Currently we are learning about the books of the Bible and the key themes in each book and how these themes weave in and out of Scripture from cover to cover.
  • About once per month we have a Q&A time where anyone can ask any question about the Bible, previous sermons or teaching, or other spiritual topics.
  • The evening service and discussion usually ends by 6:00pm, though people are welcome to hang out together longer informally.

We’d love to have you join us!

    • Currently our evening service is on hiatus. God willing it will begin again soon (likely in late August or early September, and the time is expected to be at 6:00pm)!

We do have a informal worship and prayer meeting coming up this Sunday, July 7, after our lunch fellowship. The service should begin between 1:30 and 2:00 pm.
