Last Sunday’s sermon covered Esther 5, which ended with two opposing requests pending. Two requests for the king, one to save the Jews, one to execute the downpayment on their annihilation in the hanging of Mordecai; one from Esther, one from Haman; both planning to make their request the very next day. This Sunday the sermon text is Esther 6, where neither question is asked because God providentially intervenes.
Last Sunday’s evening sermon covered Psalm 49, which was in effect a sermon itself. This week we will hear from Psalm 50, which is also like a sermon, but with God Himself portrayed as the speaker.
